My Recycle Team Pay Plan
Version 1 (10/10/26)
TGI pays collectors for two things only: base pay for the accepted pounds you sell to TGI, and team bonuses on the accepted pounds sold to TGI by collectors on your team, up to three levels. TGI pays nothing for signing anyone up.
Base pay: your own accepted pounds
- Summer clothing: 13¢ a pound
- Paired shoes: 13¢ a pound
- Linens: 5.8¢ a pound
Team bonuses: flat cents per accepted pound your team sells
Level 1 is the collectors you personally sponsored. Level 2 is the collectors they sponsored. Level 3 is the collectors those level 2 collectors sponsored.
- Level 1: 2.5¢ a pound of summer clothing or paired shoes, 1.25¢ a pound of linens
- Level 2: 1.5¢ a pound of summer clothing or paired shoes, 0.75¢ a pound of linens
- Level 3: 1¢ a pound of summer clothing or paired shoes, 0.5¢ a pound of linens
How team bonuses work
- Team bonuses are flat cents per accepted pound, never a percentage of anyone's pay or sales.
- TGI pays team bonuses on top of base pay. Nothing is taken from the collector who sold the pounds or from anyone else.
- A team bonus is paid only if that sponsor is active when the drop-off is graded. Otherwise TGI keeps it: it is not passed up to anyone else (no roll-up, no compression).
- Team bonuses owed to TGI's house account (starter code MRTEAM26) are not paid.
- Team bonuses continue only while you are active and your team keeps bringing accepted pounds. TGI can change or end team bonuses with 30 days' notice.
- There is no signup bonus, no rank, no quota, no volume minimum and no pay for recruiting. You earn nothing when someone joins; a team bonus comes only from accepted pounds sold to TGI.
- Your team view shows each team member by first name and last initial only, with their accepted pounds for the month.
How amounts are figured
- Pay is figured on accepted pounds only. Refused pounds are weighed, not paid, and given back to you.
- Each line of a receipt is net accepted pounds times the rate, rounded to the nearest cent, with half a cent rounded up.
- Receipts and statements show rates in cents per pound, never as a percent.
When you are paid
- A pay week runs from Monday 12:00 AM AZ to Sunday 11:59 PM AZ.
- TGI closes each week on the Monday after it and pays by ACH to the US bank account in your own name that you gave at sign-up.
- Balances under $10.00 carry forward to the next week. Every balance is paid, whatever the amount, when your Collector Agreement ends and in the last payout of each December.
- TGI emails you a payout notice when it pays you, a receipt for every drop-off and a statement on the 1st of each month.
- Pay that cannot be delivered is held for you and reported to the Arizona Department of Revenue as unclaimed property when A.R.S. 44-302 requires it.
- Pay already earned is always paid, whatever your status later becomes.
Taxes
- TGI withholds no tax from your pay, except federal backup withholding on team bonuses when the IRS requires it.
- Base pay per pound is payment for goods you own and sell to TGI.
- TGI reports your team bonuses on Form 1099-NEC when the team bonuses paid to you in a calendar year reach the IRS reporting threshold: $2,000 for 2026, adjusted by the IRS for later years.
- When the IRS tells TGI that your taxpayer identification number is wrong, or otherwise requires it, TGI withholds 24% federal backup withholding from team bonuses (26 U.S.C. 3406). This is the only amount TGI ever holds back from your pay.
No income promises
TGI does not promise or predict any amount of pay. What you are paid depends only on the accepted pounds you and your team actually sell to TGI. When you talk about the program, you may quote only the per-pound rates on this page.
Changes
Rates change only with 30 days' notice on the site and by email. TGI can change or end team bonuses with 30 days' notice.
